What advice would you give someone starting out in your industry?
Start making connections and keep in touch with them. Offer to connect your contacts and be a good conduit for introductions.
If you could try a different job for a day, what would you choose?
I would love to work at a high-end auction house like Sotheby’s or Christies in New York for a day during an auction. The energy in the room would be so exciting.
What is your mantra?
“You’re fine!”
How do you get yourself out of a slump?
I make a list and start checking things off. Momentum begets momentum. I also enjoy walking around the lake, going on a hike, or taking a bike ride.
What companies or leaders do you admire?
I admire entrepreneurs like Mark Cuban, Sophia Amoruso and Chris Sacca. People who have a vision and bring it to life – then give back to other entrepreneurs who are earlier on in their path.
What has been the biggest shift you’ve noticed in your industry in the last decade?
I have found that people are much more accessible through LinkedIn and other tools.
What is your go-to celebration meal, drink or tradition?
I love to toast an occasion with a bottle of Caymus wine, shared with friends/family.
